Beijing Paralympics: (27/08/08) Fachie Begins Journey To Paralympic Success

Neil Fachie (Aberdeen), the first GIS athlete to be selected for an Olympic or Paralympic Games, leaves Aberdeen today to begin his final preparation for the Beijing.
Neil will arrive in Macau at the Team GB holding camp where he will train for a few days before heading off to Beijing on 31 August. After acclimatising Neil will finish off with some fine tuning as he prepares for his first event, the 100m.
Competing in the T13 classification Neil's 100m heat takes place at 9.00am (Beijing time) on Saturday 13 September with the final being held at 8.00pm that same evening. He will then have a day's rest before competing in the heats of the 200m on Monday 15 September with the final the following day.
