Freyja Prentice (Chapel of Garioch) was part of the Team GB Modern Pentathlon squad that competed in the Youth A World Championships in Albena, Bulgaria, from 18-22 September.

Having performed well at the Balkan Open Youth A Championships just a few weeks earlier Freyja was looking to continue her good run of form...and she wasn't disappointed.

Freyja produced the top individual performance amongst the Girls' squad by finishing 5th overall, a position that helped Team GB clinch the silver medal in the team event behind Hungary.

In the final event of the Championship Freyja and her fellow Team GB members produced another formidable result in the team relay finishing second behind the all-conquering Hungarians once again.

This brings to an end an extremely successful season for Freyja who now goes into a well-earned month of rest and recovery...before starting preparations for next season.
