Sara Hamilton (Stonehaven) made her GB debut at the European Junior Swimming Championships in Prague from 7-12 July.

Swimming in the 50m freestyle Sara finished the 17th fastest qualifier in the first round on the Saturday morning with a time of 26.78 secs. She returned to the pool later the same day in the semi-final and whilst she improved on her earlier time with a 26.65 secs swim it wasn't enough to take her through to the final.

The gold medal was won by Silke Lippok of Germany in a time of 25.44 secs.
