Aberdeen Grammar full back Steven Aitken has earned a call up to the Scotland sevens squad which play in Las Vegas this week.

Aitken flew out from London, having put behind him a leg injury which kept him out of the Rubislaw side for two months earlier in the season.

Aitken, formerly of Ellon, has already played for the Scotland under-20 side.

Alex Duncan, the Grammar coach, said: "I am delighted for Steven. He deserves the honour. He has worked hard on his game and put a serious injury behind him. Steven is a consistent performer and one of our best ball carriers."
