Snowboard (19/02/10) Kilner 18th in Olympic Halfpipe

19th February 2010

Team GB halfpipe snowboarder Ben Kilner finished in 18th place on Cypress Mountain on Wednesday. Kilner qualified in good form for the semi-finals with a score of 32.1, but he suffered falls on both runs in the semi-finals (scores 3.1 and 17.0).

At 21 years of age Kilner believes he has two or three more Olympics ahead of him and views Vancouver 2010 as very valuable experience gained. Shortly after the competition Kilner said:

的知 pretty disappointed right now, but I came here to qualify for the semi-finals so I知 really happy with that. I was having a good second run but unfortunately I fell on the second to last trick where I landed slightly flat on the front side nine and that cause me to unfortunately fall over. I just didn稚 quite have the strength to hold on.

的 now need to go out there and learn the new tricks that the top guys are doing. For Sochi 2014 I値l hopefully be able to catch up with them. The great thing about the halfpipe is that it never stops evolving; new tricks are being invented all the time."
