Modern Pentathlon (23/03/10) Prentice Leads the Way for Britain in Cairo

23rd March 2010

North-East athlete Freyja Prentice, from Chapel of Garioch, was Britain's top performer when finishing fifth in the modern pentathlon World Cup series race in Cairo on Saturday.

Prentice, a Grampian Institute of Sport supported athlete, who is currently based at the University of Bath, was delighted with the performance which comes soon after she returned to training following injury.

Prentice's result means she has kept up her record of securing top-10 finishes in each of her World Cup appearances. The 19-year-old was 10th on her World Cup debut in Mexico a year ago and ninth in Rome in May last year. She can now look forward with confidence to the next World Cup match at Medway, Kent, next month.
