The aim of the GIS Hockey programme is to provide the highest level of coaching to enable the athlete to continue to improve and reach their optimum level. The programme focuses on individual skills with particular emphasis on the development of very strong fundamentals.

The GIS athletes work twice per week with GIS Hockey coach Murray Carnie on the water-based pitch at the Chris Anderson Stadium, Aberdeen. The technical sessions are complemented by supervised strength and conditioning sessions.

The GIS athletes compete within the domestic club programme at their respective age groups and at an international level through the various Scotland National Squads.
