Squash

Scottish Squash (SS) is responsible for nominating athletes for inclusion within the Institute network. Athletes are required to meet the agreed selection criteria before they can be nominated.

The GIS Squash programme works in co-operation with the Scottish Squash Academy Programme. Any athlete from the Grampian area who is selected for the Scottish Squash Academy and who meets the specified criteria is automatically nominated for the GIS.

The GIS athletes develop the technical aspects of their game under the guidance of their individual coaches at a local level and through regular coaching at Academy level. The Scottish Squash Academy is based at Heriot Watt University and some players choose to relocate in order to combine study and sport. In these instances the athletes continue to be supported by GIS.
